Why I'm Fighting to Bring Back the Magic of the Drive-In

For as long as I can remember, the Drive-In Theatre has meant more to me than movies on a screen. It has meant family, summer nights, carloads of memories, and a kind of shared experience that deserves to survive.

My connection to Drive-Ins goes back to childhood. I’ve loved them since I was old enough to understand what they were — the glowing screen, the cars lined up under the stars, the snack bar, the families, and the feeling that the whole field was sharing one night together.

My Drive-In Background

Drive-Ins have been part of my life for more than half a century. I can remember being at a Drive-In when I was only two years old, and that experience never left me.

But my connection to theatres is not just as a customer. Over the years, I’ve worked in and around Drive-Ins and indoor theatres, operated two indoor theatres of my own, and served as a managing partner in a Drive-In.

I’ve seen the magic from the field, the snack bar, the staff side, and the business side. That experience is what drives The Drive-In Guys: not just remembering what Drive-Ins were, but helping people understand what it takes to keep them alive and bring them back.

Why The Drive-In Guys Exists

The Drive-In Guys was created to help keep the Drive-In Theatre experience alive — not just as a memory, but as something families can still enjoy today and in the future.

Too many Drive-Ins have been lost to development, rising costs, changing technology, and people forgetting what made them special in the first place.

My goal is to build support, awareness, and the funding needed to help reopen, acquire, or create Drive-In Theatres one screen at a time.

More Drive-In Dave history, theatre credits, photos, and Drive-In Guys mission details coming soon.
